Windows Update Freezes

Has it ever happened that when you go to Windows Update using XP the browser is stuck on the page? You click on all the buttons then it does nothing? Sometimes the browser can even be blank displaying nothing? Well your woes are over.

This can be a problem for the scripting control of your operating system. XP and Vista has this integrated, you may not notice it but its there. You can follow this link for more info .

So let’s fix this issue:

1. Open a Command Prompt by typing in CMD in Run if you are using XP. If you are using Vista you can type CMD in Start Search right click on CMD then “Run As Administrator”.

2. You can copy and paste the lines below on Command Prompt or you can type each entry then hit enter after each line.

cd /d %systemroot%system32
regsvr32 dispex.dll
regsvr32 msscript.ocx
regsvr32 vbscript.dll
regsvr32 scrrun.dll
regsvr32 jscript.dll

3. Open Windows Update and see if you can Check for Updates now.
